Founded by Kate Rojales in May 2015, Hope For Mail is a nonprofit organization.  We are dedicated to sending words of encouragement to families battling life threatening childhood illness in the name of Jesus.  We want to support, uplift, and encourage these children, their siblings, and their families through the mail box while they face such a difficult struggle.

In today’s world, the items that fill our mailboxes are advertisements, bills, and other pieces of junk mail.  A handwritten card or letter of celebration, encouragement, or gratitude is a rarity in today’s world of texts, E-cards and emails.  These pieces of mail are special, and they can be treasured much longer than an email.

From early on, my parents impressed on me the importance of making and sending cards in the mail, to celebrate, to encourage, to thank, and to brighten someone’s day.  The words that someone took the time to hand write and send to me also brighten my day years later.

On a mission trip to Guatemala, I delivered some letters to some children in the ministry for friends.  The kids were so excited to receive the letters of encouragement from their sponsors in America.  I was amazed at the difference the letters had made.  While serving at Lighthouse, I was privileged to get to know families battling childhood cancer.  After spending time with these families, God really tugged on my heart and placed a passion to love on and serve families with children facing life threatening illnesses.  After learning about their difficult struggles firsthand, He showed me that even families with strong faith need encouragement.  Words are such simple, but powerful tools to encourage, to uplift, and to strengthen.  This is why we created Hope for Mail to bring hope to families with children fighting terminal illness through the mailbox.

May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit. Romans 15:13
